About Rapid Welding and Industrial Supplies Ltd.
The company was set up by Mr R D Edwards, an Aircraft Approved Welder, and Mr R P Edwards, a Ministry Approved Senior Design Engineer, and is still privately owned by them. With modern offices and proper storage facilities, Rapid at its inception employed 7 people and was becoming recognised as a serious and professional welding distributor. More sales staff were soon necessary to give coverage to an expanding area and to cement Rapid's position in the south as a leading welding distributor.
Rapid Welding is committed to the welding industry and during the past ten years major manufacturers have recognised our commitment and product loyalty. Kemppi is our main franchise and our distribution area includes Hampshire, West Sussex & Dorset.
We are also distributors and stockists for Elga, Alexander Binzel, Harris, Avesta, Lincoln, Saf Oerlikon, Esab, Murex, Miller, Gullco and many others. Rapid employs at present 23 staff all with the same objectives, to supply top quality products with a back up service second to none. We have demonstrated our competence in welding distribution and aftersales to be officially appointed as agents for them all. Technical representatives are out in the field every day face to face with our customers and our delivery drivers are never static.
From 6 April 1999, Rapid Industrial Gases Ltd was started, distributing cylinder gases and employing a further 3 staff to be fully committed to this new project. It was felt that this was a natural progression and complementary to Rapid Welding & Industrial Supplies Ltd. Rapid Industrial Gases now delivers over 1000 cylinders a month.
In 2006 Rapid IT Services Ltd was started providing IT support, consultancy and development to customers across the entire spectrum of businesses.
We hope you will appreciate the benefit of our experience and find that we only offer products that will give you outstanding value for money.
Our market approach is to offer generous discount on quality products, alternative items that you may deem cheap, will certainly be manufactured ‘cheap’.
Quality used welding machines will most certainly be a better proposition than new budget equipment, and you may find what you are looking for in our second hand section.
If a customer needs a sophisticated welding machine, a pair of welding gloves or Industrial Gases, the attention to detail will be there to ensure our future into the 21st century.
Roy and Rob attribute the continued success of Rapid to having a great team of dedicated staff. Without their concerted efforts the continued growth would not be possible and sustainable.
