Next Level Welding Gloves
We had the pleasure of meeting Wim de Graaff, who is the MD/Owner of SPIDERHAND®, and his products impressed us … a lot!
Having operated in the welding glove business for two decades, Wim recognised a trend in the market for mass production - in other words, quantity over quality, which increased waste as well as created discomfort for welders using a substandard glove.
SPIDERHAND® was developed in 2016, with the aim being to enhance welding performance whilst offering the ultimate in close-contact feel, comfort, quality, dexterity, as well as the best protection. Only after two years of dedicated effort in ‘prototyping and pattern cutting to achieve the optimal fit and dexterity of the glove’ was SPIDERHAND®, the PREMIUM HANDMADE WELDING GLOVE RANGE, officially introduced in 2018.
Materials
Different leathers have different characteristics and are therefore suited to different welding applications. With its thickness, COWHIDE is popular for MIG welding, offering heat resistance and excellent dexterity. GOATSKIN is a very soft and flexible leather for a great sense of touch and abrasion resistance - Used with full insulated lining this leather is ideal to combine with cowhide on the back of the hand for MIG welding. DEERSKIN is the softest and most supple leather, and offers a superior sense of touch, making it ideal for lower amperages.
On top of that, SPIDERHAND® gloves are stitched with Kevlar® threading to guarantee optimal performance, safety, and longevity.
