BETTER VISIBILITY, BETTER PROTECTION

Kemppi presents its latest line of Beta welding helmets; the e90 range is designed for professional welders who have preferences for suitable weight, comfort and eye protection. All Beta models weigh around 473g (depending on model) and are among Kemppi's most compact and lightweight face shields in its welding protection catalogue. The shell structure provides generous dimensions that offer excellent eye protection from arc radiation and deeper facial protection. The flip-up welding lens is perfectly positioned for pre- and post-welding inspection. A robust, cost-efficient solution for light- to medium-duty welding tasks.

Kemppi Air Fed Helmets FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing a welding or grinding helmet with a powered or flow-controlled air system.

What is the difference between a powered respirator unit and a flow-controlled compressed air system?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A powered respirator unit is a belt-worn blower with a battery that filters the surrounding air and passes it to the helmet. A compressed-air system feeds clean breathing air from a supply through a flow-control unit.

A battery unit gives freedom to move without a hose to a fixed supply. A compressed-air system needs a suitable air source and clean, properly filtered air, but has no battery to charge. Choose by the work, the site and what you already have.

Which helmet should I choose for welding and which for grinding?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A welding helmet has an auto-darkening filter for arc work. A grinding helmet has a clear visor and is built for impact from particles and sparks.

If you do both, you can use a welding head for arc work and swap to a grinding head on the same blower, if the system allows. This is often easier than a single compromise helmet.

What does the shade range tell me?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

The shade range shows how dark the filter can go and how light it is in the clear state. A range that starts at a low shade is good for low-current work and for seeing before the arc starts, while higher shades are for heavy current.

Choose a range that covers your processes and currents. A variable shade control gives more flexibility.

How do I know the unit is giving enough air?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Most units have an indicator, an alarm or both to show low flow or a low battery. A flow test with the test device, or the method in the manual, should be done before each shift.

If the flow is low, check for a clogged filter, kinked hose or a flat battery. Do not weld until the correct flow is restored.
