X-tended Performance

Optrel has doubled the efficiency of the new e3000X by combining a performance-optimised design with the latest battery cell technology. With up to 18 hours of battery life and 240 litres of air per minute available at the touch of a button, the new e3000X is the perfect choice for the most powerful ventilated breathing protection system available on the market.

X-tended Safety

The new e3000X shows you the battery charge level at the touch of a button and calibrates the air flow automatically so you can get through the day safely.

X-tended Productivity

As soon as the filter in the respective airflow level is saturated, you receive an acoustic alarm, and the new e3000X‘s intelligent alarm function switches fully automatically to the next lowest airflow stage – without you having to interrupt the work process.

X-tended Application Possibilities

The new Optrel e3000X PAPR system protects you reliably from particles like smoke, aerosols or dust. Furthermore, the mountain breeze odour filter frees you from awkward smells and insanitary ozone. The new A1B1E1 gas filter will be available in environments with hazardous or toxic gases starting in Q2/2020. The new e3000X adapts to your requirements.

Optrel Air Fed Helmets FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing a complete auto-darkening helmet and powered respirator package.

How do I choose between the different helmet shells in a package?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Think about the work you do. Look at the viewing area, the lens clarity and how the helmet feels on your head for long periods. Some shells are made for general welding, some for tight spaces, and some can be worn over or with a hard hat.

Try to compare the lens specification, the weight and balance, the adjustment of the headband and the side visibility. A helmet you find comfortable will actually be worn all day, which matters more for your protection than any single feature.

What does the lens rating and clarity of an auto-darkening filter mean?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Auto-darkening filters are classified for optical quality, how even the shade is across the lens, how little it varies with viewing angle, and how quickly it reacts. Better ratings give a clearer, more consistent view, which reduces eye strain on long jobs.

For most welders, high optical quality, a wide shade range and adjustable sensitivity and delay are the practical points. Check the shade range covers the processes you use, including low-current TIG, where sensitivity matters most.

Can the same blower unit be used with different helmets?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Often the blower unit and breathing hose can be moved between compatible helmets or a grinding visor, which is a useful way to expand your protection without buying a second respirator. This works only where the maker states the combination is compatible and approved.

Check with the manufacturer's instructions, and do not mix components not designed to work together. The airflow, the connection and the approval of the whole assembly all matter for your safety.

Can I wear safety glasses, a hard hat or ear defenders with the helmet?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Many helmets are designed to be worn with prescription or safety glasses, and some models are built to integrate with a hard hat or have attachments for hearing protection. Fit varies a lot between designs.

Check that nothing breaks the seal or pushes the lens or visor out of position, and that the airflow still reaches your face. If you work around overhead hazards, choose a design intended for use with head protection, rather than improvising.
